Vision Statement

A Healthy Church

A Vision of the purpose of the church is one of the most critical elements in the success and effectiveness of the local church. Proverbs 29:18 states “Where there is no vision (revelation of God), the people are unrestrained, But happy is he who keeps the law.”(nas)  A vision statement that is Christ centered keeps the church focused.

A local church is a composite of its members. For a church to be focused on its vision statement it must be focused upon Christ. Heb 12:1-2 states” Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, [12] Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

In other words, to accomplish the God given vision for our church, the vision must be centered on Christ and individually as a congregation we must cast aside our sins and things that hinder us from accomplishing the vision and go forward with our eyes focused upon Jesus.

The value of a church vision statement is that it gives church leadership and members a shared goal. Every church needs to understand where it is going before it can develop a strategic plan and map out steps for how to get there.

The following is a simple but clear Vision Statement: “Connecting with God, each other, and our community”. Our mission statement will expand this thought and provide additional information on this goal.

It is important that all members of our church understand this vision and that they embrace it as their own!
